Dear Doug:
I did feel that the RC Church was being singled out by some people on
this list. It may be true that YOU are not singling the RC Church out,
but others appear to be.
I don't know why John Toland did not say more about Pius XII in his book
on Adolf Hitler (which was the only book on Hitler that I happened to
have with me). I looked up "Concordat" in the index and he doesn't even
mention it. Perhaps Hitler did not consider the Concordat to be all that
important. What I mean by this is, perhaps he felt that he didn't have
to worry about Pope Pius XII. This is a shame. He SHOULD have had to
worry about what Pius XII would say or think. I don't think that Jesus
would have been afraid to speak out.
I have not been ignoring your messages. Did you read the one where I
said that the name of the book we used in the class was _People of the
Book_, by John Barton (who is Episcopal). I have received dozens of
challenges since yesterday to my emails. When it's 30 (or so) against
one, I guess that is what I have to expect. Right now, I don't have a
life outside of the internet, but I still can't keep up with it. I may
have to xnsxscribe from this list simply because of the volume. Of
course, if I check the archive, I am sure that I would then see a
posting with the title "Claire goes clippity-clop", along with some smug
messages about how deluded and brainwashed xians are.
I will be going out of town for a week, so I won't be able to respond to
your postings until after then. Have a nice Thanksgiving! :)
Sincerely,
Claire O'Connor (aka "The Virtual Human Dart Board")
