Brainwashing, atheists being "shut out".

Dear Jason:
I am sorry to hear that atheists are shut out or shunned. I think that
shunning them is not a truly Christian response (even though people who
say they are Christian have done it). Religion should not be used as a
weapon against people. Seeing your message is another reminder that I
need to defend atheists when they are being unfairly attacked, as I have
seen happen on the CARM board.
I don't personally know all that many atheists. Most of the ones I have
"met" I have encountered on the Internet. I have been impressed with the
sincerity, thoughtfulness, and intelligence of some of them. Tod
Billings is an excellent example of one such atheist. There are several
others. I know that I can learn a lot from them.
