Talk about ignorance! Take a look at how your "loving" God murdered all
the first-born in Egypt and did likewise to the Israelites who merely
followed their king's command to take a census--a command which was
influenced by Yahweh himself! Or how about how Yahweh ordered the
slaughter of every living thing in the conquered neighboring cities--even
AFTER the conquest had been made--except for the young girls (The
Israelites were to keep these for themselves..what may that mean, mmm,
perhaps as sex slaves and forced wives?). Or how about Yahweh
predestining most of mankind to eternal torment (Romans 9-11). I pity
you that you are able to blind yourself to these Biblical teachings which
don't display any of "God's love."

"2 Peter" was likely written to explain away the plain meaning of
"Jesus'" and "Paul's" words about the 2nd coming. "This generation"
passed away, and "the last days" became numerous years, and still no
Jesus--so the author combs the Old Testament to find some support and
voila, a day with the Lord is as a thousand years--which means it's easy
to get out of a biblical discrepancy, just find any way to weasel word
out of it.
