Magill- It makes no difference who the human penman was because it was
written by The Holy Spirit.
> simply made a statement that conflicts with the teachings of the law. Yoel
> has posted many times the OT scriptures that say nonbloody sacrifices could
> be made as sin offerings, so when those scriptures are compared to Hebrews
> 8:22, we can easily see that there is a discrepancy between the two.
Magill- Partaking of a sin offering is not the same as being saved. None
of the Hebrew Old Testament saints went to heaven until Christ paid the
price for their sins by His own Blood at an exact moment in time and
space on the cross. That why what happened in Matthew 28 happened as
till pointed out for us in one of his postings.
Mr. Till's argument as well as Yoel's has not been well thought out.
They remain on the surface whereas the Truth lies much deeper.
This
> is a good example of the fallaciousness in Magill's
> let-scripture-interpret-scripture method of interpretation.
Magill- This is what till says. That's his opinion.
The Truth is contrary to my till's opinion.
This is an excellent example of Scripture interpretating and validating
other Scripture.
>
> It's curious that Magill apparently didn't notice that his own scripture
> quotation states that "according to the law ALMOST all things are purified
> with blood."
Magill- It's even more interesting to see how till has not thought it
through. Fallen angels mr. till are not saved through the blood of
Jesus Christ.
Almost is not all, and so this statement is in agreement with
> Yoel's postings that have shown that the law provided for nonbloody sin
> offerings.
Magill- this is tills surfacey conclusion. You are like Kahn mr till.
You think two dimensionally.
Furthermore, the writer of Hebrews did not quote Leviticus
> 17:11.
Magill- The writer of Hebrews knew exactly what OT Scripture he was
clarifying...
The fact that in this example the NT brings to Light the OT is again
because the New Testament reveals what the Old Testament conceals.
If till was writing this in his attempt to create a religious new
testament he would have screwed this passage up or forgotten to include
it all togehter.
This example is an amazing testament to the fact of Divine Inspiration.
Reference Bibles merely assume
Magill- They don't merely assume. That is what till does. Bible
translators agree unequivically that these two passages agree and so do
I.
that this was the passage in the OT
> that the writer was alluding to. Let's look at both verses.
>
> >22 Indeed, under the law ALMOST everything is purified with blood, and
> without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.
> >
>
> >10 If anyone of the house of Israel or of the aliens who reside among them
> eats any blood, I will set my face against that person who eats blood, and
> will cut that person off from the people.
Magill- Verse 10 warns the Hebrews of the conseqence for violating God's
command and then verse 11 gives us an explanation of why God so
reverently honors the blood. One's very life soul continues to thrive in
the physical body through the blood. Ultimately, this command points to
the fact that Christ's shed blood on the cross is going to give us (our
souls) eternal life. The wages of sin is death. The life is in the
blood. His blood was shed for us which means His life was shed for us
and thus the shedding of His blood in our blood's place is why we have
life in Him.
> >11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood; and I have given it to you
> for making atonement for your lives on the altar; for, as life, it is the
> blood that makes atonement.
Magill- the proper translation is soul not just living in the sense you
are trying to interpret it.
What can one expect though from one whose mind hasn't been opened by
Jesus Christ to understand the OT Scriptures?
Furthermore, till is probably quoting from a living bible translation.
The word for soul used in the Hebrew in this passage is (5315)
"Nephesh".
This noun arises from naphash (5314). It is a breathing creature (man or
animal), breath, respiration, life, soul, spirit, mind, a living being.
It is the soul by which the body lives and breathes.
Another important meaning of nephesh, is life, the vital principle which
results in death when it leaves the body.
> >
>
> Now just where does this text say that without the shedding of blood there
> is no remission of sins?
MAgill- well let's figure this out shall we. For this example mr. till
I'm sorry but I'm going to have to incorporate 3 dimensional thinking.
Again, I apologize for any inconvienience or discomfort this may cause.
Magill- In Leviticus 17:11, we read that "It is the blood that makes
atonement for the soul." It is the blood that makes atonement for the
soul...
Premise 1. We know that the blood according to Leviticus 17:11 is the
only sacrifice which can Atone for the Soul. Atonement is speaking of
salvation and soul is speaking of one's eternal life here in this
context.
Premise 2. We know that Sin is what causes death of the soul. It's known
as spiritual death. "For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God
is everlasting life in Christ Jesus. What did Jesus do for us? He gave
up his life and shed His blood on the cross in our place to make
appeasment to the Father for our sin.
Therefore, because we know that the Blood gives life to the soul and sin
gives death to the soul then we logically conclude that it is the blood
that atones for the sin.
This argument is intrinsically and extrinsically both sound and valid.
What is there in the text that would make Magill
> think that the writer of Hebrews had "quoted" this verse in Hebres 9:22?
>
> Now perhaps Magill would like to show us where Yoel erred in saying that the
> law of Moses provided for forgiveness apart from the sacrificing of blood.
Magill- till misses the point. The issue isn't sin. The issue is the
eteranal payment for the soul...It can only be paid in blood. God
honored and kept His Word by sending Jesus. He told us all along what He
was going to do. It's just difficult to understand until you see the
full revelation of the OT and NT working together. The Apostles who knew
the OT Scriptures didn't get it until Christ opened their minds so that
they could understand.
Christ hasn't opened your mind mr. till. So you can't see it but it is
there...
Ask HIM to open your mind and break up your fallow hard heart.
IN HIS GRIP,
JSM
