Jeff
Who in there right mind would consider the mere words of a human being
on the subject of the devil over The Word of God? Everything we
accurately know about satan comes from the Word of God!

(DAVE 6/16) Hi Jeff: I don't know if I agree here fully with you.
Although we learn much about Satan from the Bible, we also, as we do about
Christ and God, learn through our personal experiences and whatever
revelations we are privy to - we can read about the temptation of Satan,
say, but not fully understand it until we find ourselves actually under
"attack" from him, or influenced by him.

I think there are a few things we can accurately know about Satan without
the aid of the Bible (although the Bible may enlighten us further as to what
we are experiencing): the real power and influence of Satan; our personal
inferiority to him; our natural tendency towards subjection to him.

We can also know that we need something or someone to free us from this
subjection (should we want it to be so). I believe we have innate
sensations and feelings about such matters, which are brought to life
through the truths explained in the Scriptures - but we are not "saved" by
the Bible, nor are we tempted by the Bible. There are realities beyond the
book which we are/can be well aware of.

So, listening to what a human says about Satan, at times, may be a valid
exercise.

Best regards.

Dave.
