It should come as no surprise that I am against all abortions, except in
the rare case of the life of the mother. Because a thing is legal and
supported by the majority only makes it morally right to people like Till
(I think he favors the right to kill an unborn baby) and others who think
morality is based upon society.

Fine. I have no problem with this at all. You are entitled to your opinion.
(even if it is far too simplistic IMHO). You can think what you like about
any subject. So can I. I think abortion is basically "wrong" but there is
no rule about exceptions, it is too complex.
The problem is that too many of your xian "friends" don't agree that
people have the right to their opinion too. So they try and make laws
that make abortion illegal, or bomb abortion clinics and kill doctors,
or picket abortion clinics harassing women who have made the
decision to terminate their pregnancies. (or kill their unborn children
if you prefer the emotional language...).
I would be interested to know what you think about these "xians".
Our PM is personally opposed to abortion (he is an R.C., and unusually
for a politician, I suspect, a real one !) but he has stated that this is
his
personal opinion only and he will not impose it on anyone else - he could
probably make it almost impossible if he wanted to. This I view as
civilised.
If all the Xians had this approach I would be much happier !
