You know Ian, you may be 100% correct concerning your information
about Stalin. I really don't know. Even assuming that you are
though it doesn't really help your case. Those things which the
world finds bad about Stalin occurred after he rejected Christianity
according to you. So it would seem that it was his rejection of
christianity that led him to be who and what he was.

No no no no no... That is a ridiculous claim. You can't say just because
Stalin did something bad after he rejected Christianity then that was
the cause, (even if it is a very good rhetoric device) you have to
demonstrate
evidence of a causal link.

Stalin surely wanted power & control and would claim to embrace whatever
beliefs would give him that. Atheism was a pretty strange choice really.
Likely the only cause that Stalin really supported was Stalin....
