Okay. Lets take the larger of the all wooden boat. The Tessarakonteres at
420 feet. They didn't have any pumps in those days and the boat was quite
successful. The Egytians also used their boats to travel the Mediterranean
and to Somalia and used huge barges to carry large loads of cargo.Were they
made of iron? No. What is the problem Till that you keep bringing up the
hogging and twisting of the ark as being a problem? The ark isn't a powered
boat in the first place, but a simple barge. It can snake it's way back to
India but it won't make any difference. It's there to sit put. And as I said
before, coating the inside and outside of the ark to prevent leaks is easy
because you can use construction techniques that you can't do with powered
ships.The ark wasn't an ordinary boat. It is no problem to stiffen the
planks to damper the stress loads. You use inner stiffeners 45 degrees in
relation to the outer skin. That's an old technique too. It's all very simple.
