I am flattered, but I would be a poor sort of Christian if I allowed
this to go unchallenged. :-)

For what it's worth, I did not mean "Matthew is an inerrantist, and
therefore his logic is weak". I have mentioned some specific cases
to him by e-mail.

And, also for what it's worth, Matthew is by no means the only person
on the list who sometimes displays surprising lapses of logical thinking.
I think this is a result of the subject matter rather than an indication
that the list is populated by idiots: it is very hard to think rationally
about something about which you feel strongly, and there's a good deal
of strong feeling about some of these issues.
