It's very simple, Aubrey. The man-made elements are extremely unstable.
They undergo radioactice decay and form more stable elements.

And another thing, as long as you have Strahler's book, why don't you try
reading it? You could learn a lot from it. At the very least, stop trying
to make it say things that it doesn't say. Dr. Strahler would probably be
sick if he knew how you are abusing his work.
