McDonald:
Atheism has been around and atheists have been trying to destroy the
Bible for a lot longer than 200 years Rhonda. Don't whine because
things don't always go your way. Things are "peaches and cream" for
any of us. Because I am not a Mormon there are many things that I
would not be accepted as in Utah. My tax dollars go for books which
teach evolution to children in school and I am not happy about that.
TILL
This is a knife that cuts both ways, Jerry. My tax dollars go to support
congressional chaplains, who mumble a few words at the ceiling to open
legislative sessions, and I am not happy about that. I object to having to
pay higher taxes for police and fire protection of church property. I
suspect that you live in a house owned by the Church of Christ you preach
for. If so, no taxes are paid on this, but if you have a fire in your
house, the other property owners in your community are the ones who pay the
cost of putting it out. As for books that teach evolution, I suspect that
the flat-earth group in Zion, IL, objects to their tax dollars being spent
on books that teach the earth is round. Just how far should a society go in
catering to absurd religious beliefs?
<absurd comments about persecution of Christians in the US snipped; I would
also have snipped any attempts to prove that crows are white>
By the way, Jerry, you are sending CCs of your postings to the people you
are responding to. When this is done, these subscribers will receive two
copies, the one the list sends to all subscribers and the CC.
