<< Some of the evidential reasoning that I would use to support the
Bible as God's revealed word would be the following:
1. Reliable transmission of the text
DAR
You know this because? How does this get you an inerrant text?
Either now or in the long lost past. That is the tricky part.
WALT Jr.
2. Fulfilled prophecy
DAR
Demonstrate, prove, ONE. Please.
WALT Jr.
3. Resurrection of Jesus
DAR
Shirley you jest here. Prove it. I don't it is impossible, just that
there
are far more likely reasons for this myth. Starting with that someone
made it up, and lots of others.
WALT Jr.
4. Origin of the church
DAR
That's a good one. Origin of the Jehovah's Witnesses. They have
enjoyed growth far faster than early Christianity. What does that have
to do with the truth of their beliefs?
WALT Jr.
5. Near death experiences
DAR
Give one that can be substantiated and thus can't not be
duplicated with drugs or a good whack to the head. (Note, out of
body experiences or more accurately the sensation of floating out of
your body, tunnel and bright light option included, can supposedly now
be duplicated but stimulating a certain part of the brain. Poke the brain,
person has an OBE sensation. Anyone have more details on this?)
Have you read any books that look at NDE's critically. I know they
are not as nearly as popular as the reassuring ones that give you your
hope of a life after, but they do exist. If you claim that people are
floating out of their bodies, please do carry your burden of supporting
such a claim. If you were familiar with some of the arguments and
problems with the NDE claims this would make you more credible, but
I really doubt that you are familiar with them.

6. Impact of christianity on western civilization >>
DAR
Largely negative but certainly substantial. Hmmm, the same can
be said of Hitler. And communism. And television. And democracy.
And Mormonism.
What does that have to do with it (Christianity) being true?
Are you serious or are you being funny here?
I like your list of six, all you have to do now is demonstrate them to
be true.
That's the hard part.
cheers,
Darrel
