BRIAN (got to remember to do that)
The "explanation" I heard for this is that the fig tree symbolizes
Isreal (sp?) and that Jesus was cursing Isreal for not bearing
fruit.  Of course, I don't know how "out of season" would fit in
this analogy, but you know how Bible literalists are.
