BEN
Ian, you asked about what Bible translation inerrantists use. I'm a
former Evangelical/Fundamentalist; I grew up in that background, and at
one time strongly believed in and defended inerrancy. I left that camp
about a year ago at the age of 25 concerning that very issue.
In regard to the term that Fundamentalists prefer to be called, I'm not
sure if you're interested in politeness, but if you are, they tend to
prefer to be called "Evangelicals". To illustrate, back in the 1950s,
at Dallas Theological Seminary, the majority of students referred
to themselves as "fundamentalists". Students there now feel more
comfortable with the label "evangelical". Yet the theology taught at
Dalls has not changed appreciably in all these years. I think that the
reason for the change in label is because of negative connotation that has
developed with the term "fundamentalist". The reason I mention this is
because impoliteness and rudeness tends to make Evangelicals refrain from
thinking about your arguments. In their mind, your rudeness is further
proof of your line of thought being "from the devil".

Well, I believe Walt Jr is going to the Dallas Theological Seminary, and
if he's any example of the type of teaching they do down there, someone
must be counting cash while chuckling.
