Before we discuss whether the apostle Matthew is the author of the
hypothetical document Q, some points are in order:
1. You realise this is saying that Matthew is not the author of the 'Gospel
according to Matthew'? Is this something you think?

MATT (7 Dec)
It is something that from the resources I have available to me there is a
general consensus based on analysis of the synoptic Gospels, and which I
accept as a possibility, even a likelihood, until contrary evidence is
presented against it, if there is any. I am not sure that the matter is one
which affects the inerrancy of the Bible either. It seems to me to be more
a matter of textual criticism than Biblical inerrancy.

STEVE CR (8 Dec)
Well, let's take a diversion here. We weren't arguing about the inerrancy
of 'Gospel according to Matthew', we were arguing about its historical
credentials. But as you've brought up the matter, why do you believe that
'Gospel according to Matthew' is inerrant'?
