In a message dated 1/8/97 05:30:10, you write:

LENNY

So are you saying you are lazy. Some one (I am not sure who) made the
claim that 70 people had been wrongful put to death in the USA. All I
did was ask for proof. Something you all don't seem to have ANY of.
The A.C.L.U. is that the American Civil Liars Union?

Paul Robson:
 ROFL !

Our tabloid newspapers in England do this sometimes. Someone been in
Jail for Murder for 25 years - but twenty people saw him in a pub a hundred
miles away. Well, they could all have been lying, or it was his missing
identical twin, or a cloning experiment... if you want to you can argue
*anyone* to be guilty of anything. Lots of people have been hanged who
were innocent in Britain, and no doubt many more would have been if
we hadn't abolished the death penalty thirty odd years ago. In fact, some of
the cases (Birmingham Six) that were used by the press to whip up a
furore to attempt to reinstate capital punishment have since proven to
 be miscarriages of justice.

Even I know ACLU = Americal Civil Liberties Union. Perhaps Lenny thinks
their opinion has no value , perhaps because they have presuppositional
bias.
