April,
I would like your source that shows Hitler as being a believer in the
Christian God. On the contrary April, you have not responded to me
appropriately. You assume that just because someone says they are
something then they must be. I could call myself a Democrat (God forbid)
all day long, but when it came down to how I vote and how I express myself,
it would become very clear that I am not a Democrat even though I call
myself one. Just because Hitler called himself a christian, that is no
reason to believe that he was one...by what definition do you use to know
what a christian is?
Secondly, as usual you have misunderstood my post to you about Stalin and
Mao. It was their atheism that allowed them the philosphical justification
to perform mass genocide. It was their "philosphy/atheology" that allowed
their politic to work itself out. It amazes me that you just don't
understand this April...I have told you this time and again. Their lack of
belief in God allowed for the logical justification to practice genocide.
Now I ask you April, why were they wrong? On your world view, you can
provide no objective reason why genocide is wrong. Your atheism allows for
someone to logically be good and evil and be justified in both. This is
the monstrosity of atheism. You have no foundation for your moral
beliefs...just sheer subjectivity.
His,
Walt Jr.

I, too, went round and round with Walt Jr. on this issue, offlist. It was
his attempt to get out of justifying a statement he made that atheists were
nastier to people with faith than the reverse, and the only examples he
could find were the Stalin/Mau/Hitler one (against my examples of the Klan,
skinheads, OK bombers, abortion clinic/doctor shooters, and others.)
Aside from being unable to prove Hitler was an atheist, he was also unable
to show that the evils done by Stalin/Mau were motivated by anti-religious
feelings, and not (as was the case) by political expediency.
