I agree, the total picture of Christ in the NT is pretty warped, but at
least people like Dave pick and choose (which is more illogical and
inconsistent but less dangerous) only the good qualities. Christ as a
whole as described in the gospels was deranged, cruel, egotistical and
sometimes sadistic.
