>McDonald 4/24
> Jesus, in Mark 10:14, after seeing his disciples rebuking mothers for
>bring their children to Jesus said: "Suffer the little children to come
>unto me, and forbid them not; for of such is the kingdom of heaven."

yoel-
Isn't this supposed to mean that we should have childlike faith when
approaching Jesus?

And why should little children come to him, since they already have a
limited edition "salvation"? They may as well worship Satan and then return
to Christianity right before the "age of accountability".

Btw, what is this age, Jer? Bar Mitzvah age? In Judaism, Girls become
obligated to follow the commandments at 12 and boys at 13.

If you are saying that this is referring to a demarcation between childhood
innocence and liability to eternal torment, then where is this
oh-so-crucial age of demarcation mentioned?

McDonald-
Here
>Jesus sets forth a principle which states that little children, below the
>age of accountability, are like those in heaven: sinless.

yoel-
Nothing is said about sinless. Hey, aren't we all conceived in sin? Don't
we all inherit Adam's sinful nature?

McDonald-
If one is to
>enter into heaven, he is going to have to be like the little children.

yoel-
Didn't you just say that little children are sinless? Doesn't Christ save
sinners? Hey, and how then does sin come upon children? Are they skipping
merrily along their way, then suddenly pass the nebulous "age of
accountability" and a great impending doom suddenly falls upon them? WHY?

What is the purpose of this doctrine other than attempting to ascribe some
decency to your vengeful and sadistic God.

>David, when his child (by Bathsheba -- the result of their adulterous
>affair) died, said: "But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I
>bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me" (2
>Sam. 12:23). David's plans were to go to heaven and spend eternity with
>God and he knew that he would see his son there, but not on this earth.

yoel-
In this verse, nothing is mentioned of heaven or eternity. David is talking
about death, Sheol, the grave... You are reading into this something that
isn't there.
