the book_The Gospel According to the Son?_. Apparently
some fundie wrote it as if he were actually Jesus and is actually
trying to pawn it off as written by Jesus.

All I want to know is where the HELL are you guys getting
your information?

_The Gospel According to the Son_ wasn't written by some
fundy, but by none less than Norman Mailer! It's _clearly_
labeled as a work of fiction, a first-person retelling of the
gospel from Jesus' point of view. In fact, from the dustcover and
the little bit I skimmed through, I suspect that fundamentalist
Christians would find it quite blasphemous. At least, the
thought of pretending to write from Jesus' point of view would
have scandalized me when _I_ was a Christian. >>

DAR
Norman Mailer was interviewed on NPR this evening
regarding his new book. He is definitely on our side. He is in no
sense a fundie. He made several comments about how much of
the NT was read like it was "written by committee" and made a
comment about how even the existence of Jesus is debated.
Also commented on how he didn't realize how Jewish Jesus
really was (a common misperception). Etc etc.
