I apologize for the lack of salutation. Your reponse however, gave me a good
chuckle. Wow - 11.5k!! I bet that took some time. I'm not trying to be
rude, but you seem somewhat intelligent - why not divert some of that
intellect and time on something that can make a positive difference in our
wortld.

Frankly, I think you are just covering up for the fact that you have not
the slightest idea how to respond to the questions raised about the errancy
of the Bible, and your whole attitude is one of "sour grapes". If you have
nothing to say, then do me a favor and keep silent, but spare me your attacks
on my participation on this list. The effort I spend in exposing the fallacy
of inerrancy is time well spent. Biblical inerrancy is a false idea that is a
source of evil in this world.

As for as discussing the existence of God with you (or the multitude of
others here), I guess it is pointless trying to explain the wonders of God -
you can never know what you don't understand (or want to understand). I am
blessed - Praise God!

The purpose of this list is not to discuss the existance of God, but to
discuss the errancy of the Bible. How did you ever get on this list, anyway?

In case anyone is interested, I have managed to save every message that
has been sent to this list since the end of November. I have been
diligently saving the postings by date and zipping them up 10 days at a
time. I have backed some up onto CD ROM and intend to do more of this in
the future. (I need to get the end of March and all of April on the CD).
I haven't decided on a good format that I could use to send these out to
people so that they are in a mostly readable form. Currently, they are
saved in "folders" that the Unix/Linux mail reader recognizes as folders
in Pine. However, when viewed with anything other than Pine, it becomes
one huge text file for each day. I'd be interested to hear of anyone who
has experience/knowledge about setting these postings up in a HTML (or
similar) format so that other users could read the messages without going
through the pains that I currently have to endure in order to see past
postings. Any information that you might have would be helpful. However,
I suggest you make your responses private since this really doesn't have
much to do with errancy...
BTW - what do you all think about the idea of setting a FAQ up for this
list? Putting together one soon would help newcomers understand what this
list is supposed to be about, and it should save us the agony of hearing
some sermons. Personally, I think that a FAQ is good netiquette.
Anyways, I can volunteer my time to construct one if people are
interested. Of course, I'll need Till's approval first, since it is his
listing...

"I do understand what love is, and that is one of the reasons I can never
again be a Christian. Love is not self denial. Love is not blood and
suffering. Love is not murdering your son to appease your own vanity.
Love is not hatred or wrath, consigning billions of people to eternal
torture because they have offended your ego or disobeyed your rules.
Love is not obedience, conformity, or submission. It is a counterfeit love
that iscontingent upon authority, punishment, or reward. True love is
respect and admiration, compassion and kindness, freely given by a
healthy, unafraid human being."
