Walt, of course, is the epitome of objectivity, so I can understand why his
patience with us biased apostates would be wearing thin by now. My
experience has been that when a Christian finds that he has been shellacked,
skinned, and nailed to the wall, he will often try to bow out gracefully by
notifying us that he doesn't want to continue casting his pearls before
swine. However, if Walt has cast any pearls, I'd like to know what they
are. Anyway, before he leaves, I do hope that he will try to address my
latest posting about Jacob and his spotted, speckled, and striped flock. He
has already tried to unsubscribe, but he sent the wrong command to the list.
I'll tell him what the correct command is, or even unsubscribe him myself
with the owner's password command, if he will respond to the spotted-flock
posting.

In effect, here are the following reasons I will be leaving the list:
1. Demands too much of my time to make good posts.
TILL
I can certainly understand that. However, you stated below your interest in
conducting personal discussions with certain ones on the list. Just how is
that going to reduce the amount of time you will spend debating?
WALT JR
2. I am "casting pearls before swine" and therefore this is fruitless.
TILL
What pearls?
WALT JR
3. Mr. Till and the others are sick of my double/triple postings (which I
cannot help) so therefore I will accomodate them.
TILL
Walt, you sometimes send personal postings to just me. How do you do this?
Are you saying that for some reason you cannot send something to just the
errancy list? As a matter of fact, I remember seeing a posting from you last
night that was addressed only to the errancy list. How did you do this?
The way you have been double- and triple-addressing all of your postings
requires your respondents to hit their "reply" icons and then manually
remove all addresses but errancy's. If we can manually address replies, why
can't you? If this is truly impossible with your e-mail service, then you
need to get another service, because I don't think any lists are going to
like having to wade through doube and triple postings.

4. I don't enjoy seeing the continual non-academic attack on my Lord.
TILL
Well, I'm sure Muslims, Mormons, Hindus, etc. don't like your claim that
Christianity is the only logically coherent "world view," but that isn't
going to stop you from publicizing this claim, is it? I didn't think so.

You can cheer victory all you want Yoel (and no doubt you will), however,
those are my reasons. If anybody would like to continue a private dialogue
that may be more fruitful, then I am open to that. I am still awaiting
April's and Jason's and Aaron's response to that. Good day.
TILL
I urge everyone not to be led into this trap, because you will spend as much
time on private responses to Walt as you did on responses posted on the
list. I have made it my policy not to engage in private discussions,
because it imposes too much on my time. Why, for example, would I want to
spend hours each week on postings that will be seen only by Walt when he and
I could conduct discussions on the list and have the advantage of knowing
that many others are seeing the results of our time investments? I would
think that Walt would be interesting in seeking and saving the lost through
all avenues available to him. He listed his reasons for leaving the lost,
and I hate to impugn his motives, but could it just be that he is leaving
the list because he clearly recognizes that he has been taking a terrible
beating? I want my materials to be as public as possible; this is why I
allow all articles published in TSR to be posted on the secular web. I have
to believe that at least one of the reasons Walt wants off the list is that
he realizes that his arguments are being demolished. In other words, I
think he has finally come to understand what I have said many times:
"Inerrantists are their own worst enemies." That's why I want them on the list.
