You are quite right, however, if somebody is trying to argue that
science gives no indication that there is a god, then it is appropriate
to go to the specialists and see just how well that thesis holds among
the scientific community.

I cannot argue that "science gives no indication that there is a god".
Science cannot prove a negative position, as I have stated in other
posts. However, where there is doubt about a scientific theory,
the best option is to suspend belief. While the POSSIBILITY of "god"
or "a creative force which made the universe" or "the invisible
pink unicorn" cannot be disproven.
