Evolution by natural selection does not require large decreases in
entropy, which is just as well, as they can't happen. It does not break
the Second Law of Thermodynamics.
If a lion chases a gazelle, it will catch the weaker animals. The
stronger animals with better genes will survive (on average) and pass
those genes on to their descendants. The gene pool will be changing.
That is all natural selection is.
Remember that next time you see one animal running away from another
animal, you will have seen a miracle, as the Second Law will have been
broken (says Tony).
