CARR (1st April)
BTW, has everybody seen the new Amish Web site (http://www.amish.com/)?
It has ShockWave, Java, ActiveX and Real Audio 3. A spokesperson for the
Amish said that it would enable the English to learn more about them and
show that they were not such stick-in-the-muds as the popular myth
depicts them.

There is even a WebCam video of a live building of a barn! just like in
the film 'Witness'.

TILL (1st April)
You mean they have a web site but still ride in horse-drawn carriages?
Go figure. One of the largest Amish settlements in the country is in
Arthur, Illinois, and the last time I was there, the Amish didn't use
electricity. How do they operate computers then? I heard that some
Amish have started using telephones, but they install them on their
front porches or somewhere out of their houses, so maybe they put their
computers on the front porch too.

Of course, the Web site may only be in existence on 1st April.
