yoel-
What does this mean? Seriously, I don't understand the concept.
(DAVE 4/13) Yoel: It is a quote from Krishnan's book "World Christians" in
which he discusses the struggle he went through in deciding if he should be
"overseas" as a missionary or staying here in North America building what
has become a church with tremendous global outreach. He came to the
conclusion that often Christians feel a "call" or a "pull" to go somewhere
else than where they are to pursue their Christian mission, but that this
"call" may in fact be counter to where they can best serve and recognize God.
Krishnan is an Indian, with many ties to the Hindu and Christian communities
in both India and the Indian community in Britain. He felt that the devil
"wanted" him to go where he was not, as it was to the enhancement of the
kingdom of God for him to stay where he was (is).
It's a very interesting and open account of his dilemna at that point in his
life.
The quote, at this time, has really nothing to do with me at all - I have
not felt this "call" necessarily - I just thought it was very interesting.
Regards - thanks for asking.
Dave.
