In a message dated 97-04-09 03:51:31 EDT, you write:

<< 3) I never claimed that the majority of the world or of
scholars believed the claim that Jesus was the Son of God. I
said that the majority of scholars believed that Jesus was a
historical person who lived in first century Palestine. >>

DAR
Walt Jr., would you please list the names of the people on
this list who have ASSERTED that JESUS WAS NOT A
HISTORICAL PERSON.
You need to read more carefully, or perhaps just read. I and
all of the posters I have read have been asserting that while it is
possible that Jesus stories and myths are like the Zeus stories
and are not based upon a historical person of some kind, I, like
the majority of scholars, think it is far more likely that they are
based upon a historical person of some kind.

WALT Jr.
Though large amounts of evidence has been amassed in favor
of the existence of Jesus (as is evidenced by both christian and
non-christian scholars) you reject the majority opinion of
modern scholarship.

DAR
See above. Please this the names of the people who have
asserted this. Provide the quotes of where they have said this
as well. You are notoriously bad at making insupportable
claims of "something someone has said" when in reality they
did not. It is very difficult to have a conversation with someone
such as yourself who is constantly making stuff up.
Why here comes an example now....

WALT Jr.
And also, though large amounts of evidence has been
amassed in demonstrating the fact that the universe is not
eternal and that it had a beginning, Mr. Till still plays with the
idea that the universe is eternal.

DAR
You continue to misrepresent Farrell's position on this
although he has corrected you on this at least three times. How
many times do you have to be told something before it sinks
in? Soon we will have to ask which of the big three you are.
That is: illiterate, liar or lunatic.
Oh, while you are at it, you could post your "large amounts
of evidence has been amassed in favor of the existence of
Jesus" that you have. You are talking about some kind of
"evidence" other than your anonymous gospel
mythologies/religious documents which were written "so that
ye might believe" aren't you? I would really like to see some of
this. It shouldn't be a problem since you have "large amounts
of it".

cheers,

Darrel

"There is nothing more negative than the result of the critical study of
the life of Jesus. The Jesus of Nazareth who came forward publicly
as the Messiah, who preached the ethic of the kingdom of God, who
founded the kingdom of God upon earth, and died to give his work
its final consecration, never had any existence.... He is a figure
designed by rationalism, endowed with life by liberalism, and clothed
by modern theology in a historical garb." --Dr. Albert Schweitzer,
"The Quest for the Historical Jesus"
