Around and around they go, where they stop nobody knows. Errantists who
assume that the Israelites believed that the giants were human are wrong in
their assumption, even though some of the other arguments in this circular
argument are true. For example, its true that the translators of the Bible
believed the giants were human, or they wouldn't have translated the bible
the way they did. Its also true that the theologians, preachers of God's
word, and generally the rest of Christianity believes that the giants were
human as well, because they generally believe with their hearts, and not
with their minds. Most errantists believe that because they have brains,
they cannot buy into the biblical stories about human giants. Some
Christians, if they were honest, would admit that they too do not believe
that there were human giants in our history. I think Dave is open enough
about such matters that he might not believe these giant human stories.
However, there probably are too many Christians who accept this stuff on
faith. Till, when he was a preacher of God's word also accepted this on
faith, not questioning it's validity. Errantists believe in science, and
also believe that the stories in the bible about giant humans and dragons
were borrowed or plagarized from older sources, such as from Babylonian
myths, and other sources. So, the errantists must conclude that the stories
about the giants are false, why? Because the bible says that human giants
existed in man's history...blah blah blah.
However, if the giants were not human, but dinosaurs, which can be supported
with biblical textual evidence, then both sides, the errantists and the
people of faith would have to abandon their erroneous beliefs.
