BAKER 12/4
To conclude showing how Till devastated my theory that many of the nations
that opposed the Israelites were herds of animals as well as humans, let me
continue with Till's brillant attack. He said: "TILL If it were not a slow
day on the list, I wouldn't waste my time on such foolish nonsense as
Baker's wild assertions. In that list of seven nations, we have the
Canaanites listed, and archaeologists have discovered a mountain
of evidence that Canaanites were a race of humans that once lived in
Israel." My response was: "BAKER The Canaanites included the humans that
lived in Canaan. That part of your argument is true." Till responded:

"TILL I have already mentioned that archaeological evidence has been
discovered that shows Hittites were a nation of people. So why should we
not assume that Jebusites, Hivites, Amorites, etc. were not also nations of
people? After all, that is the way that the biblical writer described them."
My response back was: "BAKER But you don't believe the Bible. That is NOT
the way the biblical writers described them. It is however, the way the
translators described them. Big difference."

BAKER 12/4
I might add that while it is true that a mountain of archaeological evidence
for human Canaanites has been discovered, nothing in the way of
archaeological evidence has been discovered to show races of human
Girgasites, Perizzites, or even Hittites this early in Canaanite history.
Anyway, back to what Till responded to: "TILL And I see no need to waste
more time on an absolutely ridiculous claim. If Baker has reasonable
evidence that these seven nations listed in Deuteronomy 7 were animals
rather than humans, it is past time for him to present it. We have had more
than enough of his wild assertions."

BAKER 12/4
I just love this guy. Wild assertions, ridiculous claims? Where? Every post
of Till's was answered with very reasonable biblical evidence. In earlier
posts I pointed out the root meanings of the original animal groups that
left Noah's Ark in Gen 10:15-18, and included the meanings of groups of
animals that appeared in the land of Canaan during the time of Abraham. One
example is the Arkites. See Gen 10 list. Arkite means "tusks," which
certainly could apply to animals, unless Till wants to make a wild stab at
trying to assert that humans were intended.

My final response in that May post was as follows: "BAKER I have submitted
reasonable evidence and look forward to providing more on the seven nations
that opposed the Israelites. Till's empty, pointless, and often weak
errantist objections, many of which come from the book he does NOT even
believe is true, puts him into a lose/lose situation. If he argues too hard
that the bible says this or that is true, he supports the divine inerrantist
position. If he agrees with any reasonable evidence I have submitted he
would then admit his errancy position is in error. All the poor guy can do
is claim that everything I post is wild assertion." Oh how true that
statement was then, and still is.
