Michael, I would be happy to address this as I think that the answer is
quite simple. However, I need to understand precisely why you think that
the creation in Gen. 1 and the creation in Gen. 2 are separate creations
rather than simply one creation with the second being supplied in more
detail and emphasis on Adam's subsequent actions.
Actually, like your Noah's ark "contradction," this alleged contradiction is
basically one that is induced by the JEDP theory. Without overlaying
different sources over it, the "contradiction" tends to evaporate in a
hurried way.

Actually, the obvious contradictions in the 'Bible' induced the JEPD theory, the theory did not induce contradictions.
BTW, please understand this will take me a little time to pull together the
data; the weekend would be the earliest time frame in which I would be able
to do this, but I will need a clear answer to my first paragraph above to do
